Holocaust Survivors of South Jersey
$25.00, hardcover, ISBN 978-0-9793771-7-4, © 2008, 212 pp

Portraits of Resilience

The portraits of Holocaust survivors in this catalog were originally created between 2003 and 2007 by six young photographers while attending The Richard Stockton College of New Jersey. Working with Wendel A. White, Professor of Art, Gail Rosenthal, Supervisor of Stockton’s Holocaust Resource Center, and Maryann McLoughlin, Assistant Supervisor of the Holocaust Resource Center, these students recorded oral histories and made photographic portraits of Holocaust survivors living in southern New Jersey.

The portraits in this catalog serve as documents of a vanishing community. When combined with the stories of the subjects, they connect us to the lives and the humanity of the people they depict. They will also serve as a remembrance of individuals who survived one of the most tragic events of the 20th century.

This new and expanded edition comprises 32 additional survivor portraits and bios added in 2008.
