Over the years I’ve read and researched both
the Old and New Testaments and began to
understand their meanings. One day I saw
Worldwide Church of God Founder Herbert
W. Armstrong on television. I began studying
his teachings, which lead me to “right thinking”
and into the study of prophecy and
world events. That inspiration only strengthened
my belief in the first resurrection, eternal
life, and the kingdom of God.
These poems are the result of my inspiration.

Poetry book signing today
Longtime Atlantic City resident Joseph Polillo will sign copies of his new book of poems at the Noyes Arts Garage of Stockton University from 6 to 8 p.m. today.
The signing will be part of Second Friday at the Arts Garage on Fairmount Avenue. Festivities will include a wine tasting by the Iron Room, music by Mile 6 and a hands-on crafts workshop.
Polillo, who has a comprehensive collection of Atlantic City postcard memorabilia, is the former host of "The Postcard Show," which ran on the South Jersey Regional Television Network in the 1990s. Polillo and his identical twin brother, the late John Polillo, used the show to discuss the history of Atlantic City and South Jersey. It earned Joseph the nickname "Postcard Joey."
Polillo worked for many years as Atlantic City's chief licensing inspector and ran for mayor in 2008.
His book, "Joseph: Inspirational Poems," reflects his life experiences, which include a turbulent youth and the influence of his mother, Alice Loughney Polillo, a single mother who raised three boys in the city's public housing. The poems are inspired by Polillo's spiritual study and the teachings of Herbert W. Armstrong of Worldwide Church of God.
"God offers discernment and right thinking, which leads to happiness," Polillo said.
